EMC testing mandatory for all electronic equipment

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing ensures that electronic products comply with official requirements. Comprehensive emission, including radiated emissions, and immunity tests are performed in EMC test labs to ensure that the product can operate without disturbances in various household and industrial environments. It also ensures the safe use of the product, for example the product won’t interfere with other electrical equipment or present an electric hazard to the user. We can offer a wide range of basic EMC tests and product standards for wireless, industrial, scientific, railway, machinery, multimedia and medical devices.




Accredited EMC and RF testing

Etteplan Finland Oy holds the commercial EMC test laboratory accreditation code T298 in accordance with requirement SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017, giving us the ability to offer accredited EMC and RF testing in compliance with the standards. Etteplan Finland Oy’s scope of accreditation can be viewed on FINAS’s website.

Testing Services and Compliance Consultation

We provide a wide range of standardized EMC tests and RF tests using automated measurement equipment and test environments. We can conduct ESD, EFT, surge, radiated immunity and emission tests. RF measurements for radio systems, such as WLAN, Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, NFC, LoRa, WMBUS, 868 MHz, are also in the scope of our quick and cost-effective EMC testing services. We also cooperate with other accredited test laboratories to complement our service portfolio. Furthermore, we offer turnkey Compliance Consulting and Approval services.

What is EMI and EMC?

Electromagnetic Interference, or EMI refers to the phenomenon of emitted radiation and its effects. Electromagnetic Compatibility, or EMC means that a device is compatible with its electromagnetic environment and doesn’t emit levels of EM energy that cause electromagnetic interference in other devices in the vicinity.
