Environmental Responsibility The day-to-day work of Etteplan’s environmental management is based on the standards specified in the ISO 14001 environmental system. The goals of our environmental policy include minimizing the environmental impacts of our own operations, training our personnel to recognize the environmental impacts of their work, and helping our partners observe responsibility in environmental matters. We comply with environmental legislation, the ISO 14001 environmental standard and the Company’s environmental policy in our operations. We always take the full life cycle of the solution into consideration in our engineering work. Etteplan takes environmental responsibility into consideration in all of its operations. We comply with international and national environmental legislation as well as regional and local regulations. In addition, all Etteplan employees must comply with the applicable laws and regulations. Our environmental management is based on the requirements of the ISO 14001 environmental standard. We strive to describe, understand and manage environment-related processes with the help of the standard. Environmental management is the responsibility of the SVPs in charge of the business units and, at the Management Group level, the SVP responsible for the Operational Excellence function. Moderate direct environmental impacts As an expert organization, the direct environmental impacts of Etteplan’s own operations – and, correspondingly, the environmental risks associated with the Company’s own operations – are moderate. In addition to the energy and material consumption of Etteplan’s offices, the environmental impacts arise primarily from travel, which has been significantly reduced thanks to modern meeting technology. According to Etteplan’s travel policy, virtual meeting tools are used whenever possible. The emissions arising from flights, driving and other travel have not been systematically monitored. Etteplan’s operations have considerable positive environmental impacts through customer projects. Designing sustainable and eco-efficient solutions Each year, we design hundreds of solutions for the world’s leading machinery and equipment suppliers. They help our customers create solutions that are eco-efficient with respect to their manufacturability, usability and recyclability. We develop environmentally friendly technologies and cleantech products, and contribute to the energy efficiency of our customers’ equipment, machinery and production facilities. Product design takes into consideration the product’s full lifecycle environmental footprint: from raw materials to production, product use and disposal or recycling. For instance Etteplan’s technical documentation solutions are environmentally friendly and reduce the need for printed materials, as manuals and instructions can be distributed to maintenance and service personnel digitally.
