John Deere Forestry Oy asked Etteplan to redesign a hydraulic block for a tree harvester boom in order to best utilize the geometric freedoms offered by additive manufacturing, i.e. 3D printing. The goals from the redesign were to decrease pressure drop, make assembly easier, reduce weight, and minimize production costs. 

Etteplan offers its software solutions for Glaston. Existing systems have been developed and supported in the conception of future solutions.

Ca-Sa Välimeren Herkut Oy is a small food factory located in Espoo that produces Mediterranean specialties such as olives, artichokes, hummus, pesto and tzatziki as well as a wide range of different marinades and dressings from cuisines around the world.

Neste opened its first automated car wash station at Karakallio, Espoo in December of 2019. The back-end system and the automation solutions have been developed together with Etteplan. The emphasis was to make washing the car as easy and comfortable as possible for the customers.

The Switch saw a need to flexibly and cost-effectively increase its engineering capacity. The company needed manufacturing drawings for a new electrical motor fast and cost-effectively. The drawings had to meet European quality standards, but at the same time enable the manufacture of the electrical parts outside of Europe.

Sandvik presented Etteplan with a challenge: to optimize and redesign a Geneva drive rotator piece for metal additive manufacturing, also known as metal 3D printing, for a price that is competitive with traditional manufacturing.

Wärtsilä was willing to redesign their valve springs press tools by having a lighter structure made by additive manufacturing. The initial “standard design” was machined and welded, but there were fears that it would not withstand the spring forces of over 30 kN generated during use. Wärtsilä involved Etteplan to co-design and rethink the manually operated pressing tool for mounting cylinder head valves. 

Fortum Hydro is a leading clean-energy company that provides its customers with electricity, heating and cooling as well as smart solutions to improve resource efficiency. Etteplan has been taking care of Fortum Hydro’s documentation management since 2014. The two companies are now looking into the possibilities of automating the documentation process using cognitive technologies.

Fara contacted Etteplan for help in the design and implementation of the validator. The terminal needed to incorporate several technologies. Moreover, the validator at the vehicle needs to be easy to use and tolerate severe conditions.

Etteplan has developed a data transfer platform that can be used to wirelessly transfer data from a device to a cloud service. The platform, called Banda, is based on Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) technology.
