IoT cloud solution and Mobile-optimized Web application

Unified Chargers Oy is a Finnish designer and producer of EV charging stations. They develop advanced and smart solutions for the charging of EVs.

Electric Vehicles (EVs) are getting more common. This calls for novel charging services. Etteplan MORE has developed an Internet of Things (IoT) solution and a mobile-optimized web application for Unified Chargers. The IoT system enables the efficient use of charging stations. The mobile web application allows the user to start, stop and pay for the charging.

Backend scalability is crucial, as EVs and charging stations get more commonplace. The AWS cloud solution designed by Etteplan MORE keeps fixed costs under control while being able to react to large fluctuations in usage. The backend system uses AWS IoT Core to communicate to the rapid charging stations.

EV drivers want to be able to charge their cars quickly. For instance, while making a stop for food during a journey. Drivers need the payment to be easy, convenient and naturally - safe. The React application lets users start, pay for and end the charging.

”Ease of use and reliability are important for a driver. The mobile web application is fast to take into use, and the backend cloud service can quickly scale up to serve even a large number of users. It has been great to be a part of the creation of this innovative solution," tells Etteplan MORE's project manager Jani Tikka.

Technologies used:

  • .NET Core
